TinyTrack Privacy Policy

TinyTrack (“the app”) is a baby tracking app that helps parents and caregivers log feeds, sleeps, nappies, growth, photos and related care information. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it is used.

What we collect

Account information: your email address and optional display name, phone number, bio and profile photo.
Baby care data you enter: baby profiles (name, date of birth, photos) and the records you log — feedings, sleeps, nappy changes, growth measurements, health logs, milestones, medications, journal entries, tummy time, reflux events, immunisations, emergency contacts and photos.
App usage and diagnostics: which screens you open, that an action happened (for example “a feed was logged”), crash reports, and a device identifier. See Analytics, crash reporting and notifications below.

We do not collect location data or advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How your data is used

Your data is used solely to provide the app’s features: syncing your records across your devices (including Apple Watch), generating summaries and trends, and sharing a baby’s records with caregivers you explicitly invite. It is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for marketing.

Where your data is stored

Your account and baby care data is stored securely with Supabase, our backend provider, with access restricted so only you and caregivers you invite can read your records. Data is encrypted in transit.

The app usage, diagnostics and notification data described in the next section is processed by Google (Firebase). This means that limited data — never your baby’s records — is transferred to and stored on Google’s servers, which may be outside South Africa.

Analytics, crash reporting and notifications

We use Google Firebase for three things:

Analytics — to understand which features are actually used, so we know what to improve. This records screen views and simple events such as “a feed was logged”, “a weekly report was submitted”, or “onboarding was completed”, along with whether the action came from the phone or the Apple Watch. Each event is linked to your account identifier and a device identifier.
Crash reporting (Crashlytics) — when the app crashes, we receive the crash location, device model and operating system version so we can fix it. Crash reports are not linked to your account.
Cloud Messaging — to deliver push notifications, such as telling a parent that a caregiver has submitted a weekly report. This requires storing a notification token for your device, which is deleted when you sign out.

What we deliberately do not send to Google: any health or care information. No feed amounts, sleep durations, weights, temperatures, medication names, doses, symptoms, notes, photos, baby names or dates of birth. Analytics records only that something was logged, never what was logged.

None of this data is used for advertising, sold, or shared with data brokers, and it is not combined with data from other apps or websites to track you. The app contains no advertising SDKs and never asks for the iOS advertising identifier.

You can stop push notifications at any time in your device settings, and deleting your account removes your data from our systems. If you would like your analytics and crash data removed, contact us at the address below.

If you invite a partner or caregiver to a baby’s profile, they can see and add records for that baby. You can revoke access at any time from the app.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as you have an account. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Children’s privacy

TinyTrack is intended for use by parents and caregivers (adults). Baby records are entered by and belong to the account holder.
